Mike Hooks has practiced law for the past thirty years (aside from a couple breaks to travel). He defends clients in a variety of litigated matters including commercial litigation, product liability, automobile liability and premises liability. His practice includes defending clients in both state and federal court in venues across the state. He is licensed to practice law in courts in Washington and Montana.
Separately, Mike also represents and counsels insurers in complex insurance matters in various forms. Mike handles coverage matters including occurrence-based and claims-made policies and is experienced in varied lines of insurance including General Liability policies; long-tail toxic tort claims; Errors and Omission (E&O) policies; and first-party policies. Mike assists and advises clients from policy drafting and claims handling to coverage litigation and defense of extra-contractual claims.
Mike started his legal career as a clerk with the Montana Supreme Court and then was in private practice in Washington, DC.
He was a shareholder in a Seattle firm before moving to Bracepoint Law. He was drawn to Bracepoint Law because of the energy and creativity of the people. “I’ve known Mark Jordan for years, and the opportunity to practice law with Mark was too good of an opportunity to miss,” Mike says.
Mike served as a volunteer attorney at the Neighborhood Legal Clinic, served on the School Commission of his kids’ school and in other volunteer positions.
